Following the recent meeting held between the former Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, and the newly elected president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, alongside James Ibori and Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo state, there was speculation that former Governor Wike was planning to switch his political party to the All Progressive Congress party.
Wike, however, dismissed the rumour when asked by the state house correspondent.
Wike replied, "No. No plans. Nothing like that in the offing". He mentioned that he is Nigerian and that he was there to give the president of the country his support.
