Did you know that regardless of your location, you can apply for a Nigerian Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and receive it within 72 hours (maximum 1 week)?
Whether for study, work, or residency purposes, your new destination might require a police character certificate.
How to Obtain a PCC:
Step 1: Gather the following documents:
- Valid international passport
- Recent headshot photo
- Proof of address. You can use a Nigerian or foreign address, ensuring it’s current. Acceptable proof includes a bank
statement or tax receipt.
- Step 2: Visit possap.gov.ng
Click on “request service” or “get started”
Choose “Police Character Certificate”
Complete the form
Verify your details and make payment (if possible, using your card)
Step 3: Provide Biometrics
If you’re in Nigeria, you’ll be asked to go to the nearest zonal office in your state.
If you’re abroad, you’ll receive a Biometric form to submit your passport and fingerprints. Visit a professional fingerprinting service provider to assist. Then, scan and email the form back to POSSAP.
Ensure professional handling of the form to avoid any issues.
You may also undergo facial recognition if abroad, but a clear passport photo should suffice.
After completing these steps, expect to receive your Police Character Certificate via email within 24 to 72 hours.
The fee is 30,000 naira. You can manage payments and processing entirely online, without the need for intermediaries.
The process is hassle-free! 👌
